From hip-hop and competitive sport to modeling, music, fitness and entrepreneurship, Lenny Roa Montas has built a journey defined by discipline, movement and self-belief. As a Swiss champion, model, artist, coach and founder of More Than Motion, he brings together his diverse experiences into one authentic vision. In this conversation, Lenny reflects on the lessons that shaped him, the meaning behind his brand, stepping beyond his comfort zone and his ambitions for the next chapter of his career.
FM42: You started in hip-hop and eventually became a Swiss champion. What did that journey teach you about discipline, competition and believing in yourself?
Lenny: Hip-hop taught me very early that talent alone is not enough. Behind every achievement are countless hours of training, repetition and moments when you keep going even though you are doubting yourself. When I became Swiss champion in 2007, I understood that real discipline means working toward your goal even when nobody is watching.
Competition taught me not to see other people only as rivals, but also as motivation. However, my biggest opponent was often not another person it was my own self-doubt. Winning that title proved that I could achieve more than I sometimes believed I was capable of. That lesson still guides me today in music, fitness, modeling and entrepreneurship.
FM42: How much of your own personality, athletic background and lifestyle goes into the brand? Is there a particular piece or collection that feels most like “you”?
Lenny: A great deal of it. More Than Motion is closely connected to my personality and the way I live. I come from dance and competitive sports, I work as a fitness coach, I model, and I also have a strong passion for fashion and urban lifestyle. I want all of these different sides of me to be reflected in the brand.
Freedom of movement, quality and an athletic fit are especially important to me. The clothing should perform in the gym while still being stylish enough to wear confidently outside it. I feel most connected to the pieces that combine an athletic silhouette with a clean, urban design. They communicate strength and discipline without needing to be loud and that represents me very well.
FM42: After establishing yourself in hip-hop, you moved into modeling and the fashion world. Was that a natural progression for you, or did you have to step outside your comfort zone to make that transition?
Lenny: It was a combination of both. Dance had already taught me how to perform, present myself and use my body with intention. Because of that, movement, expression and performing in front of a camera felt familiar.
However, the modeling world was still a new challenge. In dance, I can express myself through movement and music. In modeling, a powerful moment can be created while standing completely still and communicating only through your eyes, posture and presence. I had to learn how to show myself in a different way and allow myself to be vulnerable.
Stepping outside my comfort zone was important. It taught me that my background, my body, my story and my personality are not obstacles they are exactly what make me distinctive as a model.
FM42: More Than Motion is not just about sportswear it is a name with a message behind it. What does “More Than Motion” mean to you personally, and what do you want people to feel when they wear the brand?
Lenny: To me, More Than Motion means that movement is much more than physical activity. Movement can represent change, growth, courage and a new beginning. Every step forward begins with the decision not to remain standing still.
The brand represents people who are working on themselves physically, mentally or personally. You do not have to be a professional athlete. It is about following your own path and continuing even after setbacks.
When people wear More Than Motion, I want them to feel strong, confident and free. The clothing should remind them that there is more inside them than other people might see and sometimes more than they see in themselves.
FM42: You have experienced several different worlds: dance, competition, fitness, modeling and entrepreneurship. When you look back, do you see these as separate chapters or as different parts of the same journey? And what chapter would you like to write next?
Lenny: I see them as different parts of the same journey. At first, dance, fitness, music, modeling and entrepreneurship may appear to be separate worlds. However, they are all built on the same foundation: discipline, creativity, expression and the courage to be visible.
Dance gave me body awareness and stage presence. Competition taught me discipline. Fitness gave me mental and physical strength. Modeling helped me express my personality and style. Entrepreneurship now allows me to bring all of these experiences together in one vision.
In my next chapter, I want to expand my international presence as a model, artist and entrepreneur. I want to develop More Than Motion further, work on larger fashion and media projects, and use my story to encourage people to believe in their own journey.
FM42: What is next for you?
Lenny: I am entering a very exciting stage of my journey. As an official member of Top Model Europe Switzerland 2026, I want to take the next step in my modeling career and focus more strongly on international fashion, editorial and lifestyle projects.
At the same time, I will continue developing my music as Roamusic, my work in fitness and the growth of More Than Motion. My long term goal is to bring these different areas together as one strong and authentic personal brand.
I do not want to be limited to a single role. I am a model, musician, dancer, coach and entrepreneur and that versatility is one of my greatest strengths. I want the next chapter to be bigger, more international and even more personal.
