MODE SUISSE & FRIENDS 2025
On 1st September, 2025, Mode Suisse celebrated its format Mode Suisse & Friends once again at the Kunsthaus Zürich. 22 participants, of which 13 were newcomers, presented their latest collections and fashion projects on the runway of the Pfistersaal, otherwise reserved solely for art exhibitions. They included a.o. studio remo, winner of the 2025 Miele x Mode Suisse AWARD FOR POSITIVE IMPACT, amorphose, DANZ, Ginny Litscher, NINA YUUN and the educational institutions from Basel, Geneva and Zurich.
Moreover, ADAPT by SPF, initiated by the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation and Mode Suisse, was shown at Mode Suisse & Friends for the third time. The pieces created for wheelchair users were this year included in five different collections on the runway. Also represented on the runway were the designs of studio amo, the house brand of new Shoe Partner Ochsner Shoes. Both runway shows were accompanied by an exclusive, immersive live music experience, a get-together between Gael Faure (FR), Jono McCleery (UK, NL) and Bit-Tuner (CH).
The mise en scène was colourful rugs and chroma seaters by SULA and a floral installation by Evoraflowers. In addition, Switzerland’s highly inspirational, wholeheartedly curated and diverse fashion platform, presented the participants’ collections in the foyer of the Kunsthaus and the adjacent Auditorium. Here, together with Main Partner Miele, the organisers were delighted to honour studio remo as the fourth winner of the Miele x Mode Suisse AWARD FOR POSITIVE IMPACT. The bustling showroom also included bars and two exhibitions: an excerpt from «Susanne Bartsch – Transformation!» from the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich and a selection of photographs from Rafael Kouto’s project «Circular Heroes», in collaboration with TaDA and Mode Suisse. Additionally the third collector’s item – a pleated tote bag designed by Anastasia Bull – was launched with Edition Partner Glatt yesterday evening.
Show 1 – Mode Suisse & Friends 2025
Mode Suisse & Friends 2025 was opened by the School Doing Fashion – BASEL, ICDP HGK FHNW (friend) highlighting the creations of thirteen of their Master and Bachelor students: Shawna Christen, Mitja Leon Haring, Vann Berger, Patric Mustofa Orlando Sommer, Katharina Leandra Kroha, Piero Giovanni Zeni Mina, Kai Breakspeare, Aurélie Cuenot & Mardane Gaxotte as Paradigme Carré, Maximilian Preisig, Vera Junz, billie madrigal cartin and VNIĆ. Next up was Anastasia Bull (Basel, juried label) showing the label’s opulent pleats and cascading jewellery, followed by JILL BLOCH‘s (Basel, friend) sculptural yet moving silhouettes. One of this year’s juried newcomers TRABELSI (Zurich, Coup de Cœur DS Automobiles) continued the first show with the collection «Lella», inspired by florals of Baya Mahieddine and Tunisian women. Also new to the runway were the genderless and upcycled looks by LUNDI PISCINE (Geneva, juried newcomer, including ADAPT by SPF III, D.E.S.I.G.N. Foundation awardee).
Up next, nmesh – Art x Science (Zurich, friend) by the University of Zurich presented its co-creational project between scientific research and artistic practice. The seven knitwear pieces, styled with bottoms and accessories by enSoie, Kazu, maison blanche, Lady Lametta and Atelier 1985, were followed by ADAM BRODY Zürich (Zurich, friend), who showed its size inclusive pieces for the second time at Mode Suisse & Friends. The contemplative couture collection by HENDRIK VERMEULEN (Saxon, friend, including ADAPT by SPF III) were coming after, followed by the juried newcomers TATi (Basel, D.E.S.I.G.N. Foundation awardee) and SONNEY (Paris, D.E.S.I.G.N. Foundation awardee): TATi showing folkloric punk knitwear and SONNEY vibrant coloured, flowy pieces. The first show concluded with yesterday’s fifth juried newcomer JMQ – Jordan Martinez Quintana (Geneva, including ADAPT by SPF III) and his maximalist collection «Summer in La Mancha» that integrated loudspeakers and LEDs. The counter-cultural fashion pieces by juried label maison blanche (Zurich) were exclusively displayed in the showroom. Show one was accompanied by an exceptional musical get-together: the immersive live sound journey by Bit-Tuner (Electronica, CH), Gael Faure (Existentialist folk, FR) and Jono McCleery (Folk, UK/NL).

Show 2 – Mode Suisse & Friends 2025
Returning to the runway of Mode Suisse & Friends, DANZ (Glarus, juried label) opened the second show. The label’s signature screen-printed fabrics and hand-felted wool were followed by the surrealist couture of another Mode Suisse companion of many years: amorphose (Lugano, juried label, including ADAPT by SPF III). Juried newcomer Thomas Clément (Geneva, D.E.S.I.G.N. Foundation awardee) presented his experimental approach to cut and fabric. Next were the collections of Thibaut Barraud, Alan Clerc and Marie Boutin representing the renowned Fashion School HEAD – Genève (friend). Louis Origine (Bulle, juried label, Coup de Cœur Optic 2000) showed the «Ovo» collection, inspired by curved lines and circularity, styled with sunglasses from the newly launched collection «easy sun» by new Eyewear Partner Optic 2000. Korean-Swiss fashion label NINA YUUN (Burgdorf, juried label, Coup de Cœur EGO Movement) was up next, sending the label’s characteristic calm silhouettes down the runway, a few of them on bikes by new eBike Partner EGO Movement, before the evening’s seventh juried newcomer anna nia studio (Zurich) marked its first appearance at Mode Suisse with her elegant but playful cuts. OTHMAN (Lugano, friend, including ADAPT by SPF III) showed its Kurdish New Year inspired pieces, which were followed by Ginny Litscher (Zurich, juried label), presenting her colourful collection «Tribe». BROADHEAD (Basel, friend) S/S26 collection full of satin and lace on printed fabrics were up next before Mode Suisse & Friends 2025 concluded with studio remo (Rivaz, juried newcomer) this year’s winner of the Miele x Mode Suisse AWARD FOR POSITIVE IMPACT.
The Award recognises outstanding contributions to the ecological and social transformation of the fashion industry. Designer Sophie Fellay impressed the jury with her environmental commitment and consistently sustainable design philosophy. Which is reflected in the small-batch collection produced in Switzerland, where every piece is made from natural fibres, highlighting locally sourced wool and combining fashion and nature in a beautiful way. In Autumn, studio remo will also be shown as a Coup de Cœur BONGÉNIE. The second show of yesterday’s edition of Mode Suisse & Friends was again accompanied by the mesmerizing live sound of Bit-Tuner (CH) – Electronica, Gael Faure (FR) – Existentialist folk and Jono McCleery (UK, NL) – Folk.
