MODE SUISSE EDITION 13 ZURICH – SHOWS & SHOWROOM
Zurich, 5 February 2018, Löwenbräukunst Zurich
Monday evening’s Edition 13 of Swiss fashion platform Mode Suisse included the hotly anticipated return of After Work Studio formerly known as Wüthrichfürst, beautiful LYN Lingerie and audacious Berlin/Basel-based COLLECTIVE SWALLOW. Mode Suisse Sélection Officielle first-timers Rafael Kouto, Mourjjan and Julia Heuer were able to present their fashion universes to a wide audience of professionals. Menswear designer Garnison stayed true to his strengths of perfect tailoring with a clear contemporary approach. HEAD — Genève showed very recently-on-the-market menswear by alumni Mikael Vilchez (Forbidden Denimeries) and Victor Prieux with his ArchivesTM. DACH Showroom participant WEER introduced her AW1819 collection and the public was happy to see model celebrities Tamy Glauser, Anthony Thornburg and high-flyer Janusz Kuhlmann among others, including many new faces in an always well-considered cast.
Returning for the fourth time to Löwenbräukunst with its Migros Museum für Gegenwartskunst, a new concept was launched to help the designers find their clientele amongst the more than a thousand guests. Four rather short identical catwalk shows preceded a highly individual showroom & presentation space, once more underlining the organizers’ request to take fashion, and the designers’ entrepreneurship, seriously by ensuring their collections are purchased by the local and international buyers.
Before hitting back with Edition 14 in September 2018, Mode Suisse will remain in town with its «Sélection Mode Suisse chez enSoie», Strehlgasse 26, Zurich, until February 10, 2018. From March 2-6, 2018, Mode Suisse will again – together with the Austrian Fashion Association AFA and Berlin Showroom – present a curated selection of upcoming designers at DACH Showroom in Paris, during the forthcoming fashion week.
All this is possible only owing to support and patronage from generous partners Engagement Migros, The Zurich Silk Association ZSIG, The Hulda and Gustav Zumsteg Foundation and Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, allies of Mode Suisse since Edition 10.
Mode Suisse would also like to thank car partner Mercedes-Benz Switzerland as well as MAC Cosmetics, Charles Aellen Company and hotel partner Renaissance Zürich Tower Hotel. Additional partners are Creative Zurich and 25hours Hotel Zurich.
Mode Suisse is directed and produced by Yannick Aellen & Nicolas Eberhart with their team.
